Oct 7, 2026/reports/november-3-2026-ballot-explainers-toledo-and-lucas-countyThe page said there were 12 measures on the November 3, 2026 ballot in Toledo and Lucas County, and named them only by category. A Toledo voter sees eight issues: 3, 8, 9, 13, 16, 17, 18 and 19. The page now lists all eight by number, and says that Issues 10, 11, 12, 14 and 15 are for other communities in the county. The original count came from a summary rather than from a precinct sample ballot, and it counted issues that most Toledo residents will not see on their own ballot. A reader checking the page against their own ballot would have been looking for measures that are not on it.
Oct 7, 2026/reports/november-3-2026-ballot-explainers-toledo-and-lucas-countyIssues 3, 16, 17, 18 and 19 were expanded from one line each into full sections. Each now gives what the measure does, who put it on the ballot, what a yes vote does, what a no vote does, and the cost. Issue 3 gained the official ballot language, the list of accepted photo IDs, the religious objection provision, the rule for voting by mail, and the joint resolution number. Issue 16 gained the current 2.5 percent rate, the new 2.75 percent rate, the January 2027 through December 2030 term, the purposes named in Ordinance 301-26, the city's $25 million a year estimate, the city's $49.4 million budget gap figure, and worked examples of the cost. Issues 17, 18 and 19 gained the charter chapters and sections each one changes. The earlier note saying we were still checking the three charter issues was replaced with a narrower note saying exactly what we have and have not read. The page carried only a one line description of five of the eight issues a Toledo voter sees, and said so. Those five are now written out at the same standard as the levies, with a source for every figure. The note about what we have not checked stays, because we still have not read the certified ballot wording for Issues 17, 18 and 19 ourselves.
